The position is intended for a college student in the latter part of an undergraduate program, or in graduate school. The position may be responsible for assisting/supporting project teams with various aspects of the development processes for Trammell Crow Company in the region. This may include coordinating and administering the financial and physical underwriting of prospective investments, gathering of market information, preparation of financing or marketing packages, investment memorandum, and other related tasks. Duties may also include project management type tasks, reports, pursuits, due diligence, and site visits.


Accountable for financial projections for prospective projects.

Research, collect, review, and verify market information supporting assumptions used in financial projections, including (but not limited to) rent rates, vacancy rates, historic absorption rates, current and future competition, cap rates, and other local market data as necessary.

Coordination of physical due diligence including oversight of external consultants and review of their due diligence reports.

Production of excel and/or Argus budgets and/or proformas for projects.

Preparation of portions of investment packages for internal investment committee and external capital sources to assist in the review and closing of investments/acquisitions.

Preparation of portions of monthly draw requests and project reports to communicate development status to capital partners and other stakeholders.

Coordinating with Property Management on requirements including operating expenses, real estate taxes, parking income and expenses and other management issues that could impact investments.

Coordinating with leasing teams to effectively market assets for lease including attendance at weekly leasing pursuit meetings and preparation of supporting documentation for prospective tenant lease proposals.

Support for Development Management personnel, related to design and construction objectives, contracts, project specific tasks and attendance at weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.

Enter and update information in internal project databases for budgets, forecasts, and related financial tools/models. Other duties may be assigned.


Coordinates the work to be completed but is not responsible for formal supervision of employees.



Candidate for Bachelors or MBA degree in business, finance, real estate, architecture, engineering, construction management, or equivalent.

Strong academic performance in college.

Applicants should be self-motivated, creative and disciplined, seeking to excel in the commercial real estate development.

Prior experience in commercial real estate, banking, investments, project management, or comparable field with strong financial orientation is beneficial.

Excellent proficiency with Excel, Argus and other appropriate analytical and marketing software is beneficial.

Familiarity with databases and data analysis.

Ability to define problems, work with mathematical concepts/data, develop and refine financial models and cash flow projections, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work well with other team members.
