Job Description

Defining and writing the micro-architecture specifications for a functional block or subsystem.
Implementing the micro-architecture using RTL coding techniques.
Synthesizing the RTL optimizing for speed, area and power consumption.
Working with the physical design engineers to complete place & route and timing sign off.
Working with the verification engineers on pre-silicon verification tasks such as reviewing the verification test plan, coverage analysis and functional debug.
Working with post-silicon validation engineers for lab bring up, functional and performance validation and debug.

Requirements:

BS/MS in EE/CE required.
Knowledge of micro-architecture in any one/more areas:
General Purpose Microprocessors
Network Processors
Embedded Processors
Digital Signal Processors
Graphics Engines
DMA Engines
Switch Fabrics

Exposure to high speed/pipelined design techniques.
Project and/or work experience with RTL design, synthesis and static timing analysis.
Project and/or work experience with RTL functional verification and test plan creation.
Project and/or work experience with lab debug and bring up of a new design.
Must possess good communication skills and a willingness to listen and learn.
Team oriented, self-driven individual.

Desirable Knowledge/Skills:

Design knowledge of one/more industry standard bus interfaces (PCIe, USB, SGMII , XAUI, etc. ) and memory interfaces (DDR2, DDR3 etc;).
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl and UNIX shell etc.
Exposure/experience with formal verification and/or gate-level simulations.
