POSITION TITLE: Market Development Manager- Aerospace Distribution


As the lead for specific segments within the Aerospace sector you will be responsible for market development and sales goal achievement focusing primarily on aerospace distribution.


* Develop and drive plans to maintain and grow Carpenter's market share in existing and new markets
* Perform market trend & competitive analysis in order to capitalize on business drivers
* Implement segmentation strategies based on customer needs and behaviors
* Manage the knowledge associated with market analysis and competitive intelligence collected by outside sales, inside sales, customer service and marketing
* Financial / Budget analysis: develop models to forecast revenue / growth and affect business decisions
* Pricing Strategies: oversee and approve pricing strategies within the market segment
* New Products: understand common alloys used in market segment and advocate for new alloys
* With Marketing and Sales: generate, compile and disseminate leads to sales force; Manage market lead funnel
* With Marketing, Sales and Customer Service: develop and disseminate training on relative value proposition, product applications, and customer uses
* With Key Account Managers: develop specific account plans
* With Sales: implement growth strategies with go-to-market / channel input


* Four year college degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering/Science. MBA preferred
* 5+ years of marketing / sales experience.
* Demonstrated success with book of business and growing book of business
* Prior experience managing high volume of customers with high volume of transactions across a wide variety of products
* Demonstrated ability to obtain information across multiple channels
* Advanced knowledge of sales / marketing principles - especially with a focus on the nuances of direct and distribution sales.
* High level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time management skills
* Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
* Desire to grow and determination to succeed will be required personality traits for success in this role
* Good business judgment and decision-making skills.
* Ability to travel (20-30%)
