TITLE OF POSITION: Product Metallurgist--Industrial Markets

LOCATION: Reading, PA

OVERVIEW: This position is on the Industrial Market Product Metallurgy team. The Metallurgist is responsible for Industrial Fasteners, Semiconductor grades, and A-286 in all product forms. In addition to providing customer and manufacturing support, this position will be responsible for identifying and leading projects to improve product quality, including product enhancements, RMR reduction, and yield improvements.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

* Establishes process parameters to produce bar, strip and wire products for use in various end use applications and markets
* Reviews customer specifications and develops manufacturing methods.
* Interfaces with customers related to product usage, applications and product development.
* Supports manufacturing with the daily production of bar, strip and wire products
* Leads and participates in projects to develop / improve products and processes

REQUIREMENTS:

* Four-year college degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or related field; Associate degree and/or equivalent experience may be considered
* 1+ years' experience, combined with consistently strong performance
* Ability to travel and access mill and manufacturing areas
* Demonstrated growth in the application of statistics and data analysis
* Ability to provide support and guidance to external customers
* Ability to be a functional individual contributor with minimal supervision
* Ability to lead small projects and direct work
