Exciting Opportunity for Certified Psychiatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Charlotte, NC!

 

Job Summary
Behavioral Health Charlotte is looking for an experience Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join their team of Psychiatrists and Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in providing quality mental health services to the patients in the Charlotte area and surrounding community.  The primary goal of the AIC (Adult Integrated Continum) Clinic is to provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for the severe and persistant mentally ill patient population.  The provider will see patient in an outpatient setting.  The clinic hours are M-F, 8am- 5pm.

 

Essential Functions

  • Uses advanced clinical judgment and practice, assess, diagnose, plan implement, intervene, manage, and evaluate holistic plans of care for mental health patients.
  • Works collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health care providers to deliver quality mental health care to those in need of psychiatric care.
  • Formulates and recommends procedures and programmatic policies and formulates nursing policies and procedures to meet continuing and changing needs of the Medication Services Department. Provides direction and guidance to staff in matters relating to psychiatric nursing standards.
  • Performs a health assessment/examination appropriate to client, presentation, and setting. Involves the client in formulating an outcome-based integrated plan of care to maximize optimal well bring.
  • Determines and implements appropriate psychotherapy, as well as educational, pharmacological, and other treatment modalities to achieve expected client outcomes.
  • Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses are also qualified to evaluate, assess, and monitor other co-morbid medical conditions secondary to the mental illness.

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.

Education, Experience and Certifications.
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required.BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
Nurse Practitioner
Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. PMHNP, or PMHMP-BC board certification preferred based population served.
Physician Assistant
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Masters Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
