Assistant General Manager

Fairbanks, AK

Job Summary

Manages the hotel, sales, administrative, and maintenance processes and activities. Monitors departments to identify trends, implement procedures to maximize sales and maintain customer satisfaction. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives, and applicable government laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

* Manages the sales, administrative, and maintenance activities and operations.
* Applies knowledge of Company policies and procedures, hotel operations, and customer service.
* Assists in developing controls and procedures according to established Company policies, practices, and principles.
* Monitors hotel activities to identify trends, make recommendations, amend, and implement procedures to maximize sales and achieve customer satisfaction within defined budgetary guidelines and goals.
* Prepares reports and analysis and monitors the hotel's performance against the department and Company's overall sales and customer satisfaction goals.
* Assist in preparing annual departmental budget.
* Responsible for the employment, supervision, performance management, salary administration, discipline, and training of directly assigned personnel.

Requirements:

* This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in hotel management equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
* Proficiency in the use of computer business application, with working knowledge of computerized hotel reservations, point-of-service and accounting systems.
* Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management, and customers.
* This job normally requires six years of progressively responsible positions in hotel management. Demonstrated management experience in a business environment is required.
