The Investment Analyst role at Carnegie Mellon University isan exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining diverseinvestment experience. Being a CMU Investment Analyst provides a unique rolefor a motivated individual who is interested in gaining broad-based investmentanalysis and portfolio management experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurialculture.

The right candidate will be someone who is detailed and verycomfortable with day-to-day analytical work, but who can also think creatively,diligently research new investment opportunities and generate innovative ideasin support of the University's investment objectives. This person must also beconfident in his/her ability to effectively present those thoughts and ideas tosenior leadership. This opportunity offers a visible role within a small team,with the opportunity to directly impact the University's investment portfolios,which in turn, benefit the University's initiatives and overall mission.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer and other seniorinvestment officers, the Investment Analyst assists in managing a comprehensiveglobal portfolio across all major asset classes, including private equity,venture capital, public equities, hedge funds, real estate, natural resources,distressed opportunities and fixed income.

The role of the Investment Analyst is to assist in thegeneration, analysis, and execution of investment ideas for the InvestmentOffice at both the portfolio and individual investment fund levels, workingwith some of the world's best investment management firms. The Investment Analyst will work closely withthe senior investment staff in performing extensive due diligence, bothqualitatively and quantitatively, on promising new markets and investmentopportunities. The Investment Analyst will also assist in portfolio monitoringand reporting, including preparation of the quarterly Investment Committeepresentation.

The person selected for this role must be able todemonstrate excellent oral and written communication, problem solving,organization and analytical skills.

Qualifications

* BS or BAdegree that demonstrates the candidate's strong foundation for a career ininvestment management is required. Possible fields of study include, but arenot limited to, Finance, Economics, Statistics/Mathematics, and Accounting.
* Priorexperience (including internships) in Finance preferred.
