Job Description

Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.

Conducts key analyses critical to evaluating and advancing the organization's goals surrounding population health and system growth. Assess the needs of the community through pre- and post-test evaluations of various community programs. Analyze and interpret community health needs assessments in an effort to identify health risks within specific neighborhoods and communities. Provides studies related to system growth, service/product development and expansion, competitive assessment, physical capacity, and medical staff planning and development.  Major responsibility is identifying, evaluating and recommending geographic market and service opportunities based on market needs and converting those needs into value-added offerings through a team approach with clinical departments and community hospitals.


Minimum Qualifications Required


Education: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, community health, or related field required. Masters degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in healthcare strategic planning, community planning & development, or related field with demonstrated track record.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: None required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must demonstrate excellent organizational, planning, facilitation, and communication skills and function effectively in a team setting.  Requires understanding of market research and statistics as well as strategic thinking and problem solving skills.

Must possess strong analytical skills and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and forecasting techniques.  Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.  Experience with geospatial mapping and regression analysis preferred. Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, including Microsoft Excel and Access required.  Experience with Microsoft Word and Power Point required; previous experience with VHI patient level data, EPICS licensure data, and patient satisfaction measurement highly desirable.  Must have own transportation.
