Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the President and Chief Executive Officer, responsibilities include leading grants and donor management, fundraising, policy/advocacy, communications, marketing, special events, volunteers, and program development and implementation. Understand the needs of the nonprofit and the population it serves. That includes working closely with the management team to determine how much money is needed and for what purpose. Responsible for hiring employees who can write grants, organize events and manage client and donor communications. Institute unique and effective fundraising plans that might include auctions and events as well as ongoing capital fundraising campaigns.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, Master's preferred; 5 years of related experience; Experience in non-profit development, communications, marketing, public health and/or public affairs.


Experience in non-profit development, communications, marketing and promotion preferred. A Self-starter who will take initiative even when no one is overseeing his/her work. Ability to develop strong relationship with "influencing" skills that can convince others to accept plans and ideas. Excellent communicator with the public, donors, staff members and the rest of the management team. Knowledge of principles of effective communications and mass media, publicity, advertising, event planning, community relations, organizational structure, social service, and government relations, as they relate to nonprofit administration. Oversees and manages programs and staff including. Works with the supervisors and program staff to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the programs. Create a comprehensive annual development plan incorporating a broad spectrum of funding sources including government and foundation grants, private donations, special events etc. Oversee and implement the grants administration and management process including assuring compliance with all reporting requirements, working closely with finance and program teams, and writing and submitting grants. Develop and implement an effective Community Engagement plan for the organization, with the goal of increasing participation in Care Alliance services by our surrounding communities and target populations.
