As a Cyber Information Security Associate based in San Antonio, you will join our world-class team of first responders against cyber-attacks. The Information security candidate will be recently graduated or in their first four years of a promising cybersecurity career and will have a clear drive to learn new skills while working with a fast moving and highly skilled team. You will use state of the art tools in a security operations center to perform initial response in order to defeat cyber threats. The Information Security Associate will work alongside the rest of Capital Group’s cybersecurity team in the purpose built cybersecurity command post: the Capital Group Security Intelligence Response Team (SIRT), who are based in San Antonio, TX. The SIRT preempt, detect and respond to cyber related security threats by seeking actionable intelligence in our internal and external environments.


  • Receive alerts for incidents, ensure that they are properly identified and escalated (as appropriate).
  • Conduct initial triage according to well defined processes in order to categorize and classify network intrusions, events, incidents and false alarms.
  • Participate in incident response activities alongside senior associates and management in accordance with the Capital Group Cyber Incident Response Plan
  • Collect documents and maintain catalogs of incidents as they occur and are remediated.
  • Assist in the gathering and maintenance of forensics to support investigative and risk analysis and mitigation efforts.
  • Assist in the collection of metrics and reports for communication to SIRT leadership.
  • Good communication skills (including presenting to leadership).
  • Highly motivated and maintains composure.
  • A level of knowledge commensurate with aspiring to an early stage of a career in Cyber Security and a drive to keep up-to-date in the following areas: cyber security, risk management, incident response and forensics.


  • 1+ years work experience in a cyber-security related field
  • Security Intelligence experience
  • Knowledge of Big data analysis (knowledge of SIEM tools e.g. Splunk)
  • Knowledge of Security Intelligence, Malware analysis, penetration Testing, and Information Security
  • Strong technical ability and Security Intelligence
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • SANS Institute Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
