The Global Investment Control department directly supports Capital Group’s investment professionals, implements investment decisions and facilitates the investment process. Operating from locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, core functions include order management, portfolio construction and compliance, trade support, corporate action communication and coordination, and proxy services, among others. These services support the management of equity and fixed income portfolios for retail, institutional and private clients.

Based in Los Angeles, the Associate will play a critical role on the Private Client Services team. This team is responsible for asset compliance monitoring and maintenance trading for private client portfolios. The Associate will work closely with the Private Client Services Client Relations Team, investment professionals, compliance and other investment operations teams supporting Private Client Services and Global Investment Control.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Trading on the authorization of investment orders and market deals
  • Work with the Portfolio Managers to effectively support the mandates and client portfolios
  • Oversee client accounts to ensure they are properly constructed, reflect Portfolio Manager convictions and remain in compliance with client investment guidelines, internal investment policies and market regulations
  • Coordinate corporate action workflow, interact with Portfolio Managers and work with the asset team, legal team and other departments to complete activity
  • Administer client accounts, including recurring distributions, asset allocation implementation and tax loss harvesting requests

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required, participation in the CFA program preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.) and VBA preferred
  • Ability to translate business concepts using new technical applications with the ability to improve or automate processes
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for detail
