Within Capital Group, North American Distribution oversees sales and distribution across various client groups including: individual investors, retirement plans and institutional clients.  Our efforts are focused on positioning Capital Group as the active investment manager of choice and providing superior service, sales and marketing experience while broadening our business.

The DC Retirement Research Specialist is responsible for researching retirement topics, writing white papers and contributing to the development of intellectual capital materials in order to develop new and strengthen existing defined contribution relationships and enhance Capital Group’s presence in the market. He/she is expected to apply their knowledge of defined contribution issues, including regulatory trends and their impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Develops original research and intellectual capital for internal and external audiences on a variety of topics related to defined contribution plans
  • Serves as a subject matter expert within Capital Group and incorporates a broad knowledge of defined contribution products into white papers and other materials
  • Works collaboratively with Capital’s Retirement Strategy Group, including DC and DB Strategists, Relationship Managers, as well as members of the Marketing team to develop and deliver materials
  • Develop materials for defined benefits plans

Qualifications 

  • 10 + years of research & writing experience with in the financial services industry with experience covering both DC & DB plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and investment/financial concepts
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets &  investment financial concepts with ability to generate thoughtful and engaging written commentary
  • Proven idea generation and research skills specifically related to defined contribution
  • Proven track record of balancing multiple stakeholders throughout the organization   
  • Boardroom presence and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • CFA and/or an advanced degree desirable
