Job Responsibilities


Job Title:- Web Platform Admin

Experience:- 4 to 6 years

Job Location:- Bangalore


Roles and Responsibilities:-


  • 24x7 support for production environments.
  • Setup and configurations of new applications in the supported environment.
  • Assistance to CIO/Application/Developer teams on technical questions concerning the supported environment.
  • Support includes, but is not limited to the following technologies: Weblogic, Apache, Jboss, Sunone, iPlanet and Tomcat.
  • Provide analysis and resolution for performance and availability issues affecting the environment. Will include supporting application-troubleshooting efforts along with the application support teams where it impacts performance and availability for the environment.
  • Update Unix LDAP directory services as required to support the in scope environment
  • Perform any configuration changes at the UNIX level required to support the environment..
  • Provide restarts of the services as required.
  • Support migrations from existing technologies to new web technologies as established by the architecture team
  • System administration such as installing and patching applications such as Apache, Jboss, Tomcat, Weblogic, Sunone, iPlanet or other software as needed to support the project teams.
  • Help in resolving App Server or application configuration issues.
  • Support browser-agnostic settings as required to troubleshoot web issues. Fault detection, analysis and repair of issues within supported web environment.
  • Support developers for application setup support per the change management process.
  • Manage change control process for introducing web changes on development, QA, Staging, and Production software.
  • Provide support of tools and software to maintain and improve web environment via contract change management.
  • Manage loading and updating of configuration data for the web environment into the configuration management database based on standards established.
  • Support for all web services will be on the current Sun & LINUX environment (subject to change). Support is expected regardless of which Operating system make or version.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to application code deployments. Support tools related to deployment and version control activities (Web Operations Portal Deployer Utility.
  • Support migrations and support of new deployment.
  • Provide support of tools and software to maintain and improve web environment via contract change management.
  • Manage loading and updating of configuration data for the web environment into the CMDB.
  • Will use ServiceNow for incident/service call/problem/project management as it relates to the in-scope support.
  • Entering and updating problem tickets in the ticketing software. Providing leadership on resolution of problems assigned to workgroup.
  • Weblogic, Apache, Jboss, Sunone, iPlanet and Tomcat.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supporting the above.
  • Experience in Unix, Linux and Solaris environments.
  • Proficiency with ITIL process.
  • Experience in Servicenow will be an added advantage.
