Duties & Responsibilities:

The data analyst’s primary responsibility is to gather, analyze, document and validate the data needs of the project stakeholders.   The resources is responsible for collecting and disseminating product information, as it relates to the identification, definition and documentation of data as it is produced in the system and identifying the required data to propagate out of the systems.  Should be accomplished in the creation of data flow diagrams at the process of business entity level, converting the business entities into technical entities.  Working with the Information Architect, Data Architect or Data Modeler should be able to create mapping data documenting the flow of data from the sources system to the target system and capture the technical and business transformation rules too which the data should be subject.

Skill, Experience & General information required:

Basic Technical Requirements

Mastery of American Business English required and exposure to Insurance Industry terminology a plus.

Basic mastery of Microsoft Office Automation tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint required

Significant practical understanding of RDBMS databases, SQL required with exposure to non-SQL and Hadoop/HDFS database a significant plus

Some programing experience in tools similar to JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby and similar scripting languages.  Exposure or work in compiled languages such as C, C# or Java is a plus.

Academic class work in Statistics, Econometrics or any other quantitative mathematics a significant plus.

Desirable Skills:

Exposure to data modeling, experience with developing data flow diagrams, any analytical mathematics background
