Role: Cassandra Database Engineer

Job Description: 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and support highly available and scalable distributed Cassandra (Datastax OR Apache) database solutions for high transactions mission critical applications.
  • AWS (Cloud Formation, VPC, EC2, AMI, Beanstalk, S3, and Security, Identity and Compliance)
  • Develop standardized AMI images and Cloud formation automation scripts for building non-prod and prod environments on AWS.
  • Develop solution for on-premise Platform-as-a-service platform using Cloud Foundry.
  • Develop standardized AMI images and Cloud formation automation scripts for building non-prod and prod environments on AWS.
  • Improve applications SLA by leveraging AWS, which result in cost savings or functionality improvement
  • Data structure design, Data modeling in Cassandra.
  • Installations, configurations and monitoring DataStax Enterprise cluster and/or open source Cassandra cluster
  • Maintain and develop data models, structures, and procedures to ensure the integrity and performance of database components
  • Hands-on on setting up DSE-Spark and DSE-Solr clusters
  • Analyze and resolve technical problems, including performance tuning, and debugging
  • Cluster management like add/bootstrap nodes, remove/ replace node to clusters
  • Responsible for technology design, integration, problem analysis, data migration to Cassandra NoSQL on AWS cloud.
  • Vendor engagement for technology design, integration, problem analysis, data migration to Cassandra NoSQL on AWS cloud.
  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of equivalent experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Availability for 24*7 on-call operations for mission critical application.
