Job Description

The Role

The successful candidate will be working on a data solution to deliver regulatory reporting for a UK bank. The candidate will be responsible for the design of the central Teradata platform jobs to ingest and model data for supply to the end state reporting platform. The candidate will work alongside an ETL development team to align the platform and ingestion design, and will support a small team of Teradata Developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of the Teradata data architecture to support regulatory reporting outcomes
  • Producing high level and detailed solution designs, and documenting and articulating the clients data mart architecture
  • maintaining all DBA functions (development, test, production) to support the development and release process
  • Carrying out any required performance tuning, including collecting statistics, analyzing explains & determining which tables needed statistics.
  • Using Teradata Administrator and Teradata Manager Tools for monitoring and control the system.
  • Loading data from various data sources and legacy systems into Teradata
  • Supporting liaison between the development and design team

Essential skills/experience

  • Knowledge of Teradata's solutions - Teradata RDBMS, Teradata ADW
  • Knowledge of common data warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience in developing complex dimensional data models to support reporting outcomes
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical clients
  • Demonstrable technical expertise in Data Warehouse design
