Job Description

The role

To work, as part of a Capgemini architecture team working closely with client architects, leading the solution architecture for the clients' defined projects and programmes.

We are looking for an experienced application solution architect, specifically with experience of integration/APIs and retail banking (knowledge/awareness of PSD2 in particular).

A typical role with us would be to define and develop:

• a solution architecture for a project with sufficient detail to include a software architecture design
• an enterprise solutions for a programme to support the programme and any projects that are spawned
• A number of key architecture artefacts including, but not limited to, high and detailed level designs, hypothesis and option papers, and support for strategic roadmap designs across functional domains.

Assignments will vary in size and duration, and may involve working as part of a team delivering a contractual solution, providing expert client-side consultancy, mentoring, design authority project delivery, or acting as a “trusted advisor” and/or “subject matter expert” to clients and internal teams alike. Your relationships will run from senior management level through to project development teams.

The Application Development & Maintenance practice is the largest practice within Capgemini Finanical Services, with a headcount of 6000+ individuals and servicing 500+ clients globally.

In the UK, ADM consists of the following disciplines:

  • Solution architecture
  • Software development
  • Mainframe development
  • Managed services
  • Project/programme management

Key responsibilities

• Accountable and responsible for the creation of multi-technology solution architectures to meet business requirements, in line with the bank IT strategy and standards ,and managing that solution through the lifecycle of the project.
• Collaborate with multiple technical groups that include Group Technology (Infrastructure), Security, business analysts and 3rd party incumbent IT & application support provider.
• Supporting the doman architect in the development on IT roadmaps and strategic direction.
• Provide consultancy as required to senior business stakeholders on IT options and solution.
• Responsible for supporting and assuring solution architecture, governance of solution across the modules for end-to-end business solution.
• Business and technical stakeholder management

Skills/experience required

  • Retail banking (including knowledge/awareness of PSD2)
  • Enterprise scale solution architecture delivery is essential (must have led or been key team member for the delivery of enterprise architecture from scope to run)
  • Experience in design and delivery of multi-technology solutions, including legacy mainframes solutions
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise and senior IS&T manager relationships;
  • Experience of consulting led and relationship led selling a must; business winners required
  • Experience in projects with offshore resources.

We would ideally like somebody based in the North West region, however, London-based candidates who are willing to work away from home Mon-Thurs (with expenses covered) may also be considered.

Skills/experience desired

  • TOGAF 9 or Open Group certification
  • Experience of consulting led and relationship led selling
  • Working knowledge or architecture development tools and techniques
