POSITION: Adjunct Professor for Physician Assistant Program

DEPARTMENT: College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - PA Program

STATUS: Part Time/Adjunct


Adjunct faculty are responsible for assisting the academic and clinical coordinators with various duties associated with delivery of the didactic and clinical curriculum. Preferences for this position include a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience and/ or teaching or administrative experience in PA education Adjuncts are an essential part of the program, helping to prepare our students for clinical practice. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and demonstrate a professional demeanor and appearance. The individual must also have academic credentials necessary for appointment to the faculty of the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.


Adjunct faculty will:

* Present lectures to PA students and affiliated organizations as required
* Facilitate small group/ lab exercises
* Assist with the evaluation of didactic and clinical year students
* Assist with exam item writing, analysis and review
* Participate in the admissions process as necessary


Adjunct faculty must possess:

* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact in an ethnic and culturally diverse community
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other related applications
* Knowledge of current clinical medicine


The following credentials are preferred:

* Educated and experienced in field relevant to topic of lecture
* Minimum of a relevant master's level, or appropriate PA education, from a regionally accredited institution
* Current NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants
* 2-3 years clinical experience
* Experience teaching at the CU PA level
