Clinical Services Internship

Portland, OR- Remote

This twelve-week internship will begin in July



Responsibilities

The Clinical Services Intern will be an integral member of the team and will:

  • Gain broad exposure to areas of Clinical Services including: Behavioral Health, Clinical Programs, Medical Management, Payment Integrity, Provider and Member Appeals and Quality Management
  • Support the Vice President of Clinical Services by conducting ongoing research
  • Help conduct assessment and recommendations for Clinical Services capabilities to serve national customers
  • Assist with strategic planning and business gap assessment
  • Synthesize and analyze raw business intelligence and data into actionable insights
  • Other duties as assigned

Combine your academic experience with the following skills and abilities:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program focused on Business Management, Community Health, Healthcare Management, Public Health or a related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the work force
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and critical thinking/creative research skills
  • Ability to transform disparate pieces of information into an understandable framework
  • Prior experience in analytic disciplines such as competitive analysis, clinical research, strategic planning, data modeling and/or trend analysis
  • Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis for potential recommendations to internal customers
  • Ability to participate in a team atmosphere to achieve department goals and objectives consistent with corporate vision and strategies
  • Ability to multi-task, deal proactively with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, SPSS, MS Access preferred
  • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Candidates must currently reside in ID, OR, TX, UT or WA
