University Registered Nurse
(Full time with benefits, nine-month position, 11 pm - 7 am)

California University of Pennsylvania seeks to hire a nine-month, full-time, University registered Nurse to work 11 p.m.-7 a.m. An employee in this class performs as a staff nurse, providing professional nursing services on campus for students/patients with a mental or physical injury or illness, and/or dysfunctional behavior.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the theories and practices of professional nursing and college health. 
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, treat, evaluate and document student/patient behavior and physical and/or mental health status; and to develop and implement a nursing care and treatment plan for each students. 
  • Ability to administer prescribed medications and treatment and to observe, interpret, document and report symptoms, vital signs and reactions and/or responses to medications and treatments. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain a therapeutic attitude and relationship with students/patients with a mental or physical injury or illness, and/or dysfunctional behavior in order to properly care for their needs. 
  • Ability to position, lift and/or transfer non-ambulatory students/patients, with assistance as needed. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with student-employees. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing.
