POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor to Assume the Endowed Position of Beavers as - Distinguished Professor of Practice in Heavy Civil Construction

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 21, 2017 (Fall Semester)

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.


M.S. or higher in Civil Engineering or closely related field with a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Extensive industrial experience in multi-cultural and diverse environment related to Heavy Civil Construction as a Project Executive or higher position. Ability to communicate and work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.


Effective teaching experience in undergraduate level courses; Ability to advise students in the areas of heavy civil and construction management; Ability to form effective partnerships with private, municipal and governmental entities; Excellent ability in grant writing and acquiring sponsored projects.


Teach undergraduate courses and conduct laboratory and field experiments in: heavy civil construction, land development and site analysis, sustainable construction of infrastructure; Lead a research and development group in heavy civil construction; Produce competitive grant proposals; Student advising and mentoring; Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community service projects.
