RISK MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Administrative Support Coordinator II

Risk Management and Environmental, Health & Safety

Salary Range: $3,115 - $5,475/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..; non-exempt classification;

Essential Functions: Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management and Environmental, Health & Safety, the incumbent will be responsible for risk management programs involving loss control, claims management, insurance management, including property, automobile, travel, and miscellaneous risk reduction programs. The incumbent will be responsible for performing tasks in support of the campus insurance programs to university and/or outside parties' inquires. The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of: the University's insurance and Risk Transfer Programs; California State University (CSU) counterparts and outside vendors in aligning "best practices" for risk management; third party claims and accidents against the University; training related to safety, health, and risk management; and for the development of field trip and vehicle use procedures, volunteer worker protocols, and other risk related student activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to four years of general office experience, which includes providing ongoing work coordination and/or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative function. The incumbent must possess effective written, interpersonal, and customer service skill; and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office. The incumbent must have the ability to: organize, schedule, coordinate, and implement departmental/campus initiatives with minimal direct supervision; and meet deadlines and work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrate interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business Administration or related field. Associate in Claims or Associate in Risk Management certificate. Experience with insurance, claims, safety, and risk management. Willingness to be cross-trained in the occupation safety areas, and/or possess the desire to learn other disciplines.
