THE UNIVERSITY: California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) is a comprehensive university serving the San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley. THE COLLEGE: The College of Business and Economics (CBE) also offers classes online and in Oakland and San Ramon. CBE offers 6 degree programs (BS in Business Administration, MBA, BA and MA in Economics, MS in Accountancy, and MS in Business Analytics) spanning 4 departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management, and Marketing. The College's distinguished faculty is a multinational, multicultural, diverse group providing a wealth of global experiences and expertise in various fields. The College has been AACSB accredited since 1973.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE serves BSBA program with concentrations in accounting or finance, MS in Accountancy program, and MBA program. The department has 600 BSBA accounting concentration students and graduates 30 MSA students each year. It also has over 300 on ground and 100 online BSBA finance concentration and over 60 MBA finance concentration students.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION: To teach undergraduate and/or graduate finance courses in the areas of (a) Investment, and/or (b) Entrepreneurial Finance, conduct academic research in different areas of finance, and provide service to the University. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses. Research responsibilities include engaging in related research and scholarly activities. In addition to teaching, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.

RANK AND SALARY: Full-time, tenure-track position at Assistant Professor rank. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT: Fall Semester, 2019.


Required: (1) an earned Doctoral Degree in Finance (or closely related degree/field) from an AACSB accredited institution no later than the effective date of the appointment with specialized preparation for teaching in the areas of (a) Investment, and/or (b) Entrepreneurial Finance; (2) demonstrate a record of scholarly activity; (3) demonstrate a record of teaching excellence; (3) meet CSU East Bay, College of Business and Economics AACSB faculty qualification standards for Scholarly Academics (SA) (available online); (4) possess strong communication skills; and (5) demonstrate experience in teaching, research, mentoring or community service that has prepared them to teach our diverse student population.

Desirable: (1) professional certifications (e.g., CFA, etc.); and (2) business experience in finance.
