Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide systems engineering support in an Army Product Management office. Must have experience developing Systems Engineering Plans (SEP) and supporting the DOD product development and fielding process. Highly desire prior experience supporting electronic sensor systems and similar technical products. Must have experience as a contractor supporting Army officers (MAJ; LTC; COL) and collaborating with acquisition analysts, cost analysts, logisticians, and trainers. Prior experience in Milestone B, Milestone C, and product sustainment for electronic systems is rated highly. Active SECRET clearance required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under very general direction, works from specifications to develop or modify complex software programs to enhance an operating system. May give some guidance to less experienced software systems engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.

Develops logic, codes, tests and debugs software packages.

Identifies system requirements for operations and security, and works with other engineers and staff to develop designs and integrate components.

Performs system designs, developments and product verification testing on power, control systems, software, hardware, and equipment.

Develops the operations, management, integration & security requirements.

Develops and documents system architecture, including relevant user cases.

Develops security procedures for design reviews, and for operational monitoring, recording, and responding to security events.

Develops the client/company operations & system integration plan including end-to-end scenarios including schedules and budgets.

Develops verification plans based on requirements and architecture documents.

Defines operations, security and integration tool requirements to allow users to evaluate and analyze their network resources for performance and scalability in test-bed and modeled environments.

Packages and engineers releases to integrate with the company's operating systems.

Develops and modifies complex software, such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications and file management.

Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications.


Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.

Desired Qualifications:

Highly desire prior experience supporting electronic sensor systems and similar technical products.

Prior experience in Milestone B, Milestone C, and product sustainment for electronic systems is rated highly.
