Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide project operations support in an Army Product Management office. Must have experience as an Action Officer supporting day-to-day project execution and responding to suspenses. Highly desire prior experience supporting an Army Product Manager (O-5) and coordinating closely with the Project Manager (O-6) organization. Must have experience as a contractor supporting Army officers (MAJ; LTC; COL) and collaborating with systems engineers, acquisition analysts, cost analysts, logisticians, and trainers. Experience in Milestone B, Milestone C, and product sustainment for electronic systems is rated highly. Active SECRET clearance required.

Assists higher level program/project manager in directing the project life cycle by assisting in development of comprehensive project plans to include both long and short-range goals and milestones. Identifies, acquires, and utilizes company resources to achieve project objectives. Directs a project team usually within a matrix organization, monitoring and encouraging functional organizations to complete milestones within specific budgets and schedules. May on occasion interface with external customers as well as top management for the purpose of communicating status of project throughout life cycle. May supervise direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core non-technical programs.

Creates a method of change management including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc.

Matrix manages directors/managers from multiple departments to accomplish interdepartmental initiatives.

Clearly documents and presents findings including creation of diagrams and procedure documentation.

Responsible for driving recommendations through to implementation.

Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

Identifies, analyzes and defines project requirements and scope.

Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs.

Assists with budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the program group/function.

May develops performance plans and evaluations of employees, including subordinate supervisors as well as reviews evaluations to assure equity of individual employee performance objectives, standards and ratings among lower level staff/groups.


Required Qualifications:

Must have experience as an Action Officer supporting day-to-day project execution and responding to suspenses.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience, including three to five years of supervisory/management experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.

Desired Qualifications:

Highly desire prior experience supporting an Army Product Manager (O-5) and coordinating closely with the Project Manager (O-6) organization.

Experience in Milestone B, Milestone C, and product sustainment for electronic systems is rated highly.
