Job Description

CA Nimsoft Monitor is a global leader in infrastructure management with capabilities to monitor our customer's servers, applications, network, databases, cloud, storage and more! This position is responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of the CA Nimsoft Monitor product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with development team to understand assigned modules and new product features
  • Develop and execute customer focused test cases and maintain associated records
  • Provide test automation, test planning, triage, isolation and troubleshooting
  • Integrate test suites into the test management system and test harness
  • May develop and utilize automated test scripts to perform duties
  • Set-up and maintain testing environments
  • Record issues into a defect-tracking system
  • Participate in test plan reviews
  • Put forward accurate time estimates of work to be done on a project
  • Provide input to establish and improve departmental processes and procedures
  • Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written format
  • Work effectively with development team and support personnel as needed to troubleshoot system problems
  • May participate in grooming of product backlog with product management, development, architecture, and other stakeholders

Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

Work Experience
Typically 2 or more years of experience in a related role. QA testing experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Required Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and Solaris operating systems
  • Experience with Perl, shell, Python, Ruby, Java, C, and/or C++ programming
  • Self-starter. Willing and able to quickly learn new applications and technologies
  • Experience testing commercial applications
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Desired Qualifications
  • Development experience with multi-platform automated regression test suites
  • Experience with IP-based networking protocols, virtualization tools, storage systems, and/or equipment/applications
  • Setup and operation experience with Internet and Enterprise oriented services and applications such as email, web hosting, LDAP, MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle Databases, etc.
  • Knowledge of QoS and IT management products
  • Expertise in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of various networking environments and tools - NAT, firewalls, switches, ssh tunnels, VPNs, routers, etc.
  • Experience administering and configuring Unix and Windows platforms
  • Experience with LoadRunner, SilkTest, or other UI automated test and load tools
  • HTML5 experience
  • Awareness of language and cultural issues related to localization of software

Business Travel and Physical Demands

Business travel of approximately 10 or less percent yearly is expected for this position.
