Job Description

The Corporate Safety & Health Intern will assist the Corporate Safety & Health Management department on compliance issues specifically for our clients, subcontractors and Burns & McDonnell at the construction project support and corporate level. This position will support company Safety & Health policies and procedures, providing professional support for Safety & Health compliance matters. Interns will assist in:

* Project site Safety & Health, corporate and regional office personnel in the implementation of the site-specific Safety & Health programs, goals, safety policies and procedures.
* Maintaining compliance applicable to the Local, State, and Federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
* Project Safety & Health walk-through assessments with all project safety representatives to verify assessments are completed on time and entered at the corporate level.
* Monitoring the Project Safety & Health Program documentation requirements; and assist with assessments to the corporate Safety & Health Management team from the project site.
* Updating memos and programs relative to project and corporate safety.
* Communicating Safety & Health material to site personnel.
* Maintaining Safety & Health compliance in regards to OSHA logs, corporate policies, incident investigation, injury case management tool, training, and protective equipment distribution.
* Developing and implementation of corporate Safety & Health initiatives and plans.
* All other duties as assigned.
* Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety, Engineering, Construction Management or related field from accredited program.
* Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
* Prior internship and/or related experience preferred.
* Involvement on campus or in the community.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated leadership skills.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
