We are seeking an engineering student to join our Boston Whaler PD&E team in Edgewater, FL for the Spring 2019. Student will be provided with a hands-on learning experience giving an accurate view into the field of engineering. You will apply your classroom techniques and theories to real world engineering projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist Engineers in the development and execution of new product ideas into technically innovative manufacturable products. Products must comply/exceed all industry, government and regulations, internal quality standards and specifications.
* Help Engineers complete tasks to support target schedules, as well as, maintain awareness of entire project schedule to ensure company product availability goals are met.
* Assist Engineers in developing components within established cost targets to support company profitability goals.
* Develop and create new product ideas in the form of 2D drawings and 3D solid or surface models.
* Communicate and consult with equipment and component suppliers during design and to resolve technical issues.
* Perform technical evaluations, testing and generate reports if needed.
* Provide integration, issues resolution and trouble shooting support to manufacturing.
* Generate documentation to support manufacturing including but not limited to construction drawings and process work instructions.
* Generate systems related engineering changes (ECNs.)



QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Education

* Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline required. A minimum of two years completed is preferred.



Skills/Experience

* Computer Aided Design experience; Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Catia or Pro E preferred.
* Boating, fishing and/or marine industry experience a plus.
* Proficiency in PC based tools with a focus on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, AS-400 and general web based applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
