Job Description

CAMPUS - TXNE

Location: USA - Spring, Texas

Position Overview:

An entry-level Network Engineer is responsible for research, design, testing, documentation, and implementation of new features, services, or operational functionality necessary to advance the technology, products, and services supported by the network.

The entry-level Network Engineer will work closely with senior level engineers and be responsible for various portions of large projects including conducting hands on lab testing to validate functionality.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assist with the creation of the long-term network roadmaps for the network as a whole as well as the individual components of the network including hardware and software.
- Establish, document and follow the engineering methodology, principles, and processes required to support carrier grade telephony and data networks.
- Establish or contribute to detailed technical documentation including specifications, whitepapers, methods of procedures, and technical advisories.
- Establish and execute thorough test plans to ensure any solution being implemented is done so with the highest quality possible.
- Keep abreast of all relevant vendor developments and establish strategies and plans to proactively evolve the network and remain technologically current.
- Keep abreast of all relevant industry standards and be able to apply these standards as necessary.
- Establish and document technical requirements needed to support the introduction of a new product, service or feature, and provide subject matter expertise to all other groups involved in the project.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) from an accredited institution

Working conditions

- Network engineers may be required to conduct network maintenance during an after hours maintenance window. When this is require, the engineer's daytime hours are adjusted to account for the after hours work.
- Network engineers may be required to travel to the production data centers to conduct maintenance and/or install equipment.
- Network engineers may be required to travel to attend vendor provided training classes.
