Job Description

Overview

Brailsford & Dunlavey is seeking a Staff Accountant based out of our Washington, DC office.

The Staff Accountant will process purchase and sales documents, as well as general ledger transactions in accordance with the department Stand Operating Procedures/Internal Controls for Brailsford & Dunlavey.

Responsibilities

1. Support client invoicing

* Compile reimbursable expense documentation to be submitted with invoice to client
* Set up new clients in accounting system
* Process client receipts in batches and submit daily for approvals
* Assist in reviewing and filing client contracts and documents
* Other tasks as assigned

2. Process Vendor invoices

* Ensure documents have appropriate approvals and coding
* Record transactions in batches and submit daily
* Process and submit payment batches semi-monthly, ensuring vendors are paid timely to avoid negative outcomes, but maximize cash flow
* Utilize document imaging software and manage paper files, as required

3. Support Payroll

* Enter new hire information and update payroll-related employee information into systems
* Process manual payroll checks as needed
* Assist in customer service to employees and vendors

4. Respond to request for information (RFI's) by Project Staff, Clients and Vendors

* Handle requests in a professional manner while quickly and accurately providing information
* Ensure data requests are authorized; protecting information from either internal or external requests that are not legitimate.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and one to two years' relevant experience.

* Able to use Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Proficient in utilizing Accounting Information Systems; Quickbooks, Deltek, Microsoft Dynamics or Microsoft Office Accounting
