Job Description

Position Reports To: R&D Manager

Position Summary

The electrical engineering interns will work in the areas of design, documentation, development, schedule and testing of new and existing products by following good engineering practices. The responsibilities include activities and inputs into the design process, product design, manufacturing, and subsequent product support as required. It is expected that this individual demonstrates the ability to apply engineering principles to complex issues. The individual is expected to be a participant in overall electrical designs. Working in a cross functional team with marketing, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering is essential. The designs produced by this individual and the technical members of the team are to be cost effective and meet the overall product specifications established and meet project goals such as timeline attainment and project budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Supports system development from concept to production


* Maintain all the relevant Hardware design document, schematic design drawings, layout diagrams, Gerber, verification documents and reports, on a timely basis meeting the project timeline.


* Proactively assess the technical risks and resolve the design issues by providing reliable solutions


* Participated in ensuring Ensure Electrical regulatory compliance and thermal dissipation requirements are fully met with proven design solutions and design practices


* Maintain effective communication with customers as well as internal functional groups (local and overseas) in order to track and report the project status


* Manage all development projects in accordance with internal Brady design processes and tools


* Develops products that meet specifications either individually or as a part of a team



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Working towards a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited 4 year university


* Knowledge and experience in Embedded mixed signal hardware design, especially in multi-layer PCB's using ARM Microprocessors, DDR2/DDR3 Memories, SLC NAND, Stepper and DC Motor Drivers, USB Hub controllers, Ethernet transceivers, DACs, ADCs, LVDS Controllers and FPGA/CPLDs



Desired Characteristics: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Working towards an MS in Electrical Engineering


* Experience in Altium Designer PCB tool or an equivalent, Signal Integrity and Circuit simulation tools such as Hyper lynx and Pspice


* Experience with Labview and automated testing
