Primary Function

Design, develop and test iOS software applications for our PainScale digital business. Viewed as an expert in developing iOS software.


Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Acting as the lead designer and architect of our iOS apps – this means you’ll be essential in laying down the groundwork, infrastructure and product discussion from start to finish.
  • Collaborating with a team of engineers, designers and key individuals across the company to provide the most empowering user experience possible.
  • Communicating your ideas across teams effectively and quickly problem-solving complications as they develop.
  • Sharing your technical solutions and product ideas with the PainScale team through design review, pair programming, code review and tech talk.
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.  Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.


Required Skills

  • 5+ years with Cocoa/CocoaTouch, Objective-C and XCode.
  • Worked with a team that developed and distributed an iOS App on the App Store.
  • Fluency with a Mac/Xcode development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Apple/iOS design patterns, REST web services, and development best practices.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills (LLDB, Instruments, etc...).
  • Workflow flexibility and strong teamwork skills.
  • A natural aptitude for both teaching and learning from others in a collaborative team environment.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.


Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience building mobile applications that utilize web-services (either REST-based, JSON, Thrift or other services).
  • Consumer mobile application development experience.
  • Experience with Core Data, SQL Lite.
  • Experience with Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy.
  • Experience with C++.
  • Finding fulfillment in building great products.
  • Experience with Agile software and test-driven development.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
