BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as an NVH Engineer at our Noblesville Technical Center (NTC) in Noblesville, Indiana.

In this role, the NVH Engineer will be primarily responsible for providing mechanical computer-aided engineering (CAE) and NVH testing for new product development and improvement of component products. This position will be approximately 33% NVH CAE, NVH Test, & NVH Project Management. Products can include various rotating electric products such as alternators, starters, and electric motors or full electrified propulsion systems. This role must also be able to design, lead and carry out advanced, complex assignments requiring full use and application of NVH engineering tools, processes, and methods, as well as coordinating with the work of other global team members.

Key Accountabilities:

* Lead and conduct NVH aspects of product development process for specific programs
* Review customer and internal requirements and carry out associated activities
* Lead local and global team members to accomplish NVH goals
* Perform structural, vibration, dynamic & acoustics finite element analysis (FEA) for NVH
* Perform NVH testing on products under development; testing includes modal analysis and signature analysis in vehicle and in NVH dyno cells
* Troubleshoot vehicle and sub-system NVH issues
* Propose test and analysis plans along with design modifications to meet NVH requirements
* Coordinate outside test and analysis resources, when needed
* Write test plans and carry out tests for input data collection, model calibration, and correlation studies
* Develop new tools and methods to improve NVH predictive capabilities
* Develop NVH test group infrastructure, including test facilities, test hardware, data processing metrics as needed
* Write reports and give presentations to internal and external customers to summarize NVH projects
* Conduct NVH benchmarking projects
* Coach, mentor, and train entry level & new hire NVH Engineers

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or similar function) required; MSME degree in NVH preferred

* One of the following is required:
* 8 years engineering experience in NVH
* 5 years engineering experience with Master's Degree in related field

* Proficiency in CAD required with Creo/ProE preferred
* Solid understanding of NVH theory
* Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) for NVH required with ANSYS preferred
* Proficiency in NVH testing required with LMS Test.Lab experience preferred
* Electromagnetic noise (acoustic) simulation and test experience preferred
* Working knowledge of rotating electrical machines preferred
* Experience leading and participating on global teams preferred
* Excellent people skills and history of teamwork required
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to travel locally or internationally on an occasional basis required
