Control Center Supervisor-TAME-CAWI07172017

To satisfy our growing operations and upcoming projects on our Whitby facility, we are looking for Control Centre Supervisor.

Based in Whitby, Ontario you will organize and control the arrival, fueling, and dispatch of the train consists to this facility and as well monitor the arrival and dispatch of the consists from the layover sites. You will organize and inform GO Transit Operations of any schedule changes, contact the crews on the radio to assist with any equipment problems. You will also monitor the radio to prevent or reduce delays by coaching or having staff dispatched to meet the train at the most appropriate location and coordinate equipment changes using shop staff. On weekends you will be the primary contact for all staff working to assign work and monitor production.

In your role you will

- Organize, control consist arrival and dispatch at the facility and out post locations;

- Monitor the radio for equipment problems, consider options, contact appropriate resources to respond to minimize or prevent delays to train cycles;

- Prepare communication packages in Maximo, C4IS, Excel, distribute as necessary;

- Direct staff on equipment maintenance;

- Respond to GO Transit and other external customer requests.


As our ideal candidate, you possess:

- - You hold a post-secondary degree; a completed apprenticeship will be considered as an asset;
- - You cumulate a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the railway industry;
- - You possess experience in a similar position;
- - You have good understanding of equipment, locomotives and coach;
- - Your computer skills will be considered as an asset;
- - Your English communication skills both written and spoken are excellent.
