Rotables/Repairs Officer - VLM-TAPA-AUME01430207

We are currently seeking a Rotables Officer to join the team at West Melbourne depot. The successful candidate will be required to provide support for the maintenance of the fleet of vehicles, in the areas of planning and logistics.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

Procurement of associated materials and services for the repair of repairable and rotable items for the project fleet across all sites.

Request quotations and raise associated purchase orders.

Play a pivotal role in the pursuit of sustainable reliability improvements identified as part of the overhaul/major works process, working with the various supporting factions within the maintenance teams.

Carry out audits ensuring fleet asset numbers match Maximo.

Account for warranty claims on purchased items as required.

Manage the receipt and storage of repaired parts.

Perform quality checks on inwards goods from repairers.

Update and monitor Non-Conformance Database to verify and implement corrective actions to problems, and control further processing of nonconformance's until disposition has been made.

Provide advice on, and monitor obsolescence items as well as be able carry out technical and statistical investigations regarding quality improvement.

Provide technical reports and investigations of failures and make overhaul / Major Works /maintenance recommendations based on reports.

Work alongside engineering to identify issues within the overhaul / Major Works process and implement process and quality improvements to reduce availability impact on the fleet.

Co-ordinate spares required for accident damage when repaired within the project and assist others when repairs are carried out.


It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

Tertiary qualified in engineering, business or logistics or technically experienced in electrical or mechanical with rail industry experience.

Working knowledge of BAAN or Maximo is highly regarded.

Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a parts and accessories/stores environment.

Strong understanding of power generation equipment, including overhaul procedures.

Logical faultfinding approach and excellent problem solving skills.
