Simulator Engineer - Training Simulator-DAL00738

In your role, you will:

- Perform software and hardware modifications and configurations for aircraft training simulators. In addition, perform vendor and subcontractor contract administration, maintain regulatory test guides, support regulatory agency evaluations, oversee acquisition of new equipment, and perform project management for simulator programs.
- Performs ATG tests and analysis to support initial and periodic regulatory requirements
- Performs necessary software and database backups and configuration management activities
- Installs and maintains necessary software and database updates to the simulation equipment navigational and FMS components
- Ensures required visual system alignment and daily readiness activities are completed as necessary
- Develops and maintains required customer configuration files and databases
- Reviews and coordinates equipment discrepancy status and manages the clearance process with appropriate operations staff
- Provides review and analysis of OEM service bulletins for applicability and implementation requirements


As our ideal candidate,

You typically have at least 2 years in direct engineering experience in the flight simulation and/or aerospace industry, preferably in advanced simulation equipment and computational system environments

You have basic knowledge and understanding of computer operating systems, visual image generators, simulation software development, and associated peripheral equipment

You have working knowledge and understanding of the physical sciences including electronics, mechanics, optics, hydraulics, pneumatics, audio, video, and other associated hardware systems typically utilized in simulation equipment

You have working knowledge and understanding of technical documentation systems, revision systems, and configuration management practices

You have working knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry and common aviation related terms

You have strong technical staff communication and coordination skills

You have strong project management and supplier skills

You have strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

You have customer service attitude and customer issue resolution priorities

You have technical organization and neatness associated with equipment, tools, and documentation

You have thoroughness and deliberation in making decisions associated with equipment and system modifications and upgrades

You have innovation and creativity related to discrepancy resolution and modification design

You have a Bachelor's degree in an applicable Engineering or Aerospace related field or have a minimum of an applicable Associates degree with a balance of experience in the engineering areas described above - preferred
