We are looking for a highly driven Project Manager with strong focus on project delivery and profitability to be based in Thunder Bay, Canada.

The Project Manager acts within the boundaries of the contract with the full power of the Division President's authority to deliver the object of the contract to the customer and to deliver the targeted margin to Bombardier.

The Project Manager will lead the project and cope with the unique challenge of continually focusing on a pro-active management that the functions keeps their delegated budgets, meets their schedules and delivers on their obligation.

To this effect, the Project Manager leads the Project Core Team members in the successful completion of their assigned tasks to the required quality within schedule, allocated budgets and scope and with a full project view that encompasses areas outside own division together with the overall impact of the project on Bombardier performance. To this effect, the Project Manager has to ensure that all Core Team members have sufficient financial and reporting governance and that all risks and opportunities are properly addressed and mitigated.

The Project Manager is responsible to apply the key Project Management Processes and the applicable tools for the implementation, and is accountable for the strict and efficient application thereof.

Your Key Responsibilities and Challenges would include:

-Leading the Detailed Project Schedule, Customer Interface, Risk & Opportunity Management, Project Improvement Management, Project Launch, Change Management & Contractual Obligation Management, Budget allocation & monitoring, Project Reporting internally both status and financial performance.

-Integration of the scopes of all involved entities/sites, including external partners.

-You will have the authority and the obligation to review the effort of the Core Team members and to give directives related to the project execution, as such will be involved in the Performance review objective setting process for all Core Team members.

-You will define and secure the support of the business partners and extended project team.

-You will be responsible for the management of all communication with the Customer.

-Lead the Core Team effort to meet periodic financial targets.


- A Master's Degree in any discipline with a wealth of international experience managing complex vehicle delivery projects from start through to service delivery in rail industry.
- Proven track record of building and developing project teams with strong leadership and communication skills at all levels.
- Cross-functional experience either in Bids, Sales, Contracts & Legal, Procurement, Engineering or Operations will be an advantage.
- Ability to deliver according to plan, budget and quality; must have problem solving capabilities.
- Demonstrable ability to encourage and facilitate change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with customers and internally across various departments.
- Comfortable leading multiple site global projects, handling complexity and limiting risk.
- Financial and commercial awareness with good planning ability to anticipate issues and proactively manage others to achieve to targets.
- Results driven approach and an enabler for change to take place.
- Fluency in English essential with other local languages desirable.
