Project Configuration Manager (m/f)-TEMA-UKDY01418581

We are currently looking to recruit a Project Configuration Manager for our main site in Derby, UK, to join us in our Quality department.

Your Tasks

- You will build the Configuration Management network within all functions involved in the Configuration and Change Management processes for each project. You will be responsible for ensuring that all personnel involved in Configuration Management in the project team are adequately trained and empowered

- You will manage the interfaces between Configuration Management processes, e.g. ensuring documentation control (numbering and version control, storage, numbering and naming conventions), and release management.

- You will ensure that related processes, tools, policies and procedures are in place to cover the whole Configuration Management process chain - with agreed transfer mechanisms of data between tools.

- You will manage the defined Configuration Management deliverables (including cross-functional harmonization and reviews) and will be responsible for implementing and supervising operation of Configuration Management processes by the use of KPIs.

- Through your day to day work, you will effectively hand-over and coordinate the Configuration Management processes, responsibilities and data at the end of key phases (realization, field support, etc.).

- You will ensure proper application of the standard IS tools.

Qualifications

- You will ideally have a degree in a technical or commercial field, and a qualification in Configuration Management would be highly advantageous.

- You have in depth understanding of Configuration Management and of how its related process (Requirements Management, Data Management and Data Control) inter-relate with the business processes.

- You will be able to work with internal and external customers / suppliers at all levels.

- An appreciation of railway engineering is an advantage

- You should have very good Project Management and Project Planning knowledge, preferably coming from an environment that offered broad experience and understanding on how technical businesses work.

- You are determined and creative, with a mind set on solving problems and building relations. You have experience with working with people and holding them accountable.

- You are open to demonstrate lessons learnt and analyse how they influence the day-to-day tasks, while you strive to always improve yourself.

- You have a strong work ethic and are proficient in English.

Working in Configuration Management requires a person that can take full responsibility for accuracy of data and information. It is a challenging role that encompasses engineering understanding, very good planning skills and project management abilities. For this, we need a decisive person that can drive change and hold people accountable, with very good communications skills.
