We are always ready to speak to highly skilled and experienced people for our site in Derby, and, we are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join our team.

Role:

As part of the Rail Control Systems Division (RCS), you will be working in a multinational cross-divisional team, providing rail control systems technical leadership (70-80% of your time) and leading the BID support actions for new projects (20-30% of your time).

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

- Provide engineering leadership for RCS Onboard Projects in the UK.

- Customer main point of contact in all rail control systems engineering activities.

- Responsible for on time delivery of engineering documents and engineering change control (working with CM).

- Responsible for coordinating engineering tasks within the team and maintain budgets.

- Lead complex problem solving activities.

- Manage subcontractors on behalf of the Project Manager.

- Build and maintain excellent working relationships between the customer (EMEA division), RCS Region North and RCS EAPD (Engineering and Product Development).

- Prepare technical proposals and support pre-sales and bid opportunities for future Onboard contracts in UK.

Qualifications

Bachelors or higher degree in engineering (electrical, software or mechanical).

Substantial previous experience in a complex environment, working with multiple stakeholders.

Flexibility and capacity to adapt to different working environments, with the abilities to support a varied team with their needs and requirements.

Proven leadership skills with an eye for continuous improvement of teams and methods of working.

Experience in a similar industry is not essential as we welcome new methods and ideas from other industries.

Relevant experience working in project management department.

Proven skills in managing and influencing suppliers or customers will be highly appreciated.

Excellent communication skills at all levels, enthusiastic person with strong remote monitoring abilities.

Availability for traveling (around 1 week, every two months).

Attention to detail and clear levels of ownership.
