Purpose of the job

- To develop, implement, and direct project System Integration activities related functions covering Sub-Systems (PS&D, Communications / SCADA, AFC, Switches, Platform Screen Doors and Depot) and interfaces with Vehicles, Signaling, Services and Infrastructure.

- Working closely with all Bombardier's Engineering group, responsibilities include the evaluation of partner and Bombardier design and technical interfaces. The emphasis will be the integration of the various engineering and systems engineering disciplines necessary (communications, power supply, and offshore division for Rolling Stock, Signaling) to achieve the performance requirements of a transit system.

- Defining turkey system concepts, architecture and configuration

- Trade-off analysis

- Definition of system level specification

- System performance and failure management simulation

- System Plans (Engineering Management, EMC, Corrosion Control, Noise Control, RAM)

- Set high level system requirement and schematics

- Interface Definition and Management between BT sub-systems, and also between BT scope and Civil Contractor scope for engineering activities

- System Configuration

- Support Testing & Commissioning Manager function for definition of strategy and management plan for Testing & commission and Handover.

Key responsibilities

- Direct the day-to-day project activities for the System Integration team. Ensure that System Integration Engineering deliverables such as integration /interface plans, DCIMs, System Configurations, Design interface matrix, ICDs, etc… are coordinated, produced by the engineering team under the leadership of his group, and are delivered according to the agreed quality standards, on time and within budget.

- Ensure that Engineering best practices are implemented as well as product safety standards are maintained to their highest level.

- Chair and coordinate weekly Integration meetings internally for BT scope, with production of internal minutes of meeting and weekly action plan for system integration works.

- In coordination with Engineering Director, Design Managers and System Assurance Manager, analyze system requirements and client specifications to establish functionality and performance of system.

- Work closely with System Assurance Manager and Design Managers to provide a complete integrated system.

- Interact with the customer, other contractors. Suppliers, and vendors (as required) to ensure that requirements for system integration and interface are communicated.

- Actively attend weekly interface workshop with Civil contractor and operator, and any other design interface meetings under the leadership of the Customer.

- Might be required time to time to organize, chair and coordinate specific interface /integration workshops between certain BT sub-systems and others (eg. Civil contractor, MEA, etc…) to ensure that BT interface requirements are met by others.

- Coordinate the system engineering process between Bombardier and the civil contractor on behalf of Bombardier. This includes engineering interfaces with other division for Rolling Stock, Signalling etc…and the interfaces with Civil during engineering/design phase.

- Coordinate system engineering design activities to ensure successful integration for earthing, EMC/EMI and noise and vibration prospective.



- Minimum BENG
- Speciality in some systems related to transportation business is a plus

Relevant experience required (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role)

- Minimum 10 years in similar engineering management function for railway projects
- Project management experience (minimum one rail system projects)

Experience working in Asia (minimum 3 years)

- Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
- Knowledge and experienced with EN standards for railway systems
