TRANSIT TECHNICIAN- PITTSBURGH AIRPORT

TAME-USPI01419813

Purpose of the Job:

Safely operate and maintain the Automated People Mover (APM) rail system at the Pittsburgh Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough and complete preventive checks and corrective maintenance actions to detect failed or improperly operating equipment on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems;
- Use established procedures and other written or verbal instructions to inspect, repair, rebuild or adjust the systems;
- Operate trains, platform doors, vehicle doors or power distribution systems as required;
- Respond to system outages;
- Provide on-site customer support;
- Anticipate and satisfy the customer's needs;
- Observe all safety practices and procedures;
- Maintain tools and equipment;
- Participate in training programs;
- Perform all other duties/responsibilities as necessary and assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- You possess at least one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a technical field service role with responsibilities related to operations and maintenance; Must have formal training or education in electro-mechanical field;
- Experience with the railroad or mass transportation industries or related field is a plus;
- Electrical and mechanical cross-functional knowledge is a plus;
- You must be able to work a variety of hours as business demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (24/7 operation);
- Your written and verbal English communication skills are good;
- You are able to lift forty to fifty (40-50) pounds unassisted;
- You must have a valid Driver's license in good standing;
- You must be able to work from elevated guideways and use ladders as required; This position requires regular exposure to outside weather in challenging conditions;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams.
