We are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Project Manager - Technical Documentation for our Fleet Services team, located in Derby, UK

YOUR ROLE
To ensure effective project management of technical documentation projects in the UK, managing internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, managing technical documentation process and tool development, including coordination of resource, effective planning and budgetary control.

To support the development of the technical documentation function on a global basis, working as part of the global technical documentation team to help define, develop and standardize world class technical documentation moving forwards to support long term services business growth

YOUR TASKS
- Project management of delivery of the technical documentation output required, ensuring the implementation of robust processes to ensure engagement of all stakeholders in the delivery of bombardier's technical documentation requirements.
- Management of the various inputs required for maintenance manual production (cdrl's, engineering reviews, configuration management etc)
- Development and ownership of technical documentation delivery plans for new manuals programmes - reporting on status, and development of appropriate KPI's to drive the correct behaviour
- Continuous development of the technical documentation team and processes, including working to optimise the benefits taken from the best cost resourcing strategy.
- Share best practice relating to the development and production of technical documentation, working towards the delivery of the BT global technical documentation standard.
- Manage and develop relationships with best cost resource partners. Work to develop and implement continuous improvement to optimise the benefit taken from best cost resource.
- Work with BT customers to establish requirements, deliverables and service levels, and working within business constraints execute delivery plans. Ensure delivery against targets

Qualifications

- Qualifications in Technical Documentation management
- Technical Authoring/Illustration training
- Relevant experience required (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role)
- Solid experience in Technical Documentation in Rail, Aerospace, Automotive or Military equipment OEM/Service environments
- Leadership experience in disciplines identified above
- Technical domain experience essential, Technical Documentation production, Technical Documentation software development/integration, project management of turnkey publications delivery, ILS
