Global Mobility Business Partner (GMBP)

Based in Saint-Bruno, Canada, and reporting to the Director, Global Mobility Project Management Office, you will advise the business and HR on the global mobility setup for business projects such as business bids, new country developments, cost containment initiatives, as well as Global Mobility transformation projects. In addition, the GMBP acts as a tier-3 support to the Global Mobility Shared Services Organization (SSO) for addressing complex transfer cases and for providing training.

In your role, you will:

- Project Support - Provide advice on business projects. Main areas: cost estimates, resource model, business travelers vs. assignees, sourcing countries, strategies to address regulatory compliance requirements in the areas of immigration, payroll remittances, social security and income tax.
- New Countries - Advise on the setup to enable the transfer of employees to a country for the first time. For example, immigration conditions, appropriate transfer approach, infrastructure for transferees (accommodation, security, etc.). Engage the necessary experts and functions that will be responsible for the creation of legal entities, local compensation and benefits structure, payroll setup, employment contract development, etc. Collaborate with other stakeholders in order to create full framework for transferring employees in that country. Then, work with the Global Mobility SSO to transition the handling of mobility cases on an ongoing basis.
- Global Mobility SSO Tier-3 Support - Manage individual transfers in countries or situations that have not yet been operationalized with Global Mobility SSO or are flagged as complex cases.
- Training - Deliver training and information to the Global Mobility SSO, HR and the business. Examples: policy changes, interpretation, compliance-related initiatives. The relevant material will have been prepared in collaboration with the Global Mobility Governance team. Leverage e-learning capabilities to prepare on-demand training modules.
- Other responsibilities: Contribute to specific mobility development projects by sharing mobility expertise; propose improvements to increase customer satisfaction; leverage good practice and share knowledge and experiences; provide absence coverage for other GMBPs within the team in different time zones.


As our ideal candidate, you:

- Hold a Bachelor or preferable Master's Degree in: Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, International Relations
- Have a minimum of three years of relevant Global Mobility experience, including exposure to regulatory compliance (e.g. tax and/or immigration). Personal experience as an expatriate is an asset
- Have an excellent understanding of Global Mobility compliance areas such as:
- end-to-end international transfer process for employees across different regions of the world, typical components of global mobility policies, challenges and how to address them (for example, schooling, residence, spouse occupation, safety, cultural challenges, etc.)
- immigration principles: visas, work permits, permanent residency,
- employee tax including hypo-tax, shadow payroll and tax equalization and social security
- corporate tax including charge back principles and permanent establishment,
- cost calculations including tax costs, net-to-net; and
- pension, medical and dental plans for internationally mobile employees.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders;
- Are organized and have excellent project management skills;
- Are able to adapt to a constantly changing environment;
- Are a team player and are able to face stress that comes from tight deadlines;
- Have excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Communication skills in languages, and in particular in French or German (intermediate or advanced) would be an asset.
