You will be part of the Product Development Engineering, Aerospace team where it all starts for Bombardier as it sets the stage to take full advantage of its investments and the tremendous growth potential of its new products. The organization is responsible for bringing new aircraft programs to their successful entry-into-service. Currently, these new products are the all-new CSeries commercial aircraft and the high-performance Global 7000/Global 8000 business jets.

In your role, you will:

- Integration of equipment to the aircraft and development of equipment interface to other systems and structure.
- Develop concepts, design approach and philosophy with the system Partner.
- Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the FBW Flight Control System (FCS) electronic controllers and prepare technical requirements documents.
- Validate the FBW electronic controller's hardware definition and oversee their design.
- Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility.
- Perform trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis.
- Oversee the development of electronic controller interface to other systems and structure.
- Actively participate to the different peer and design reviews (PDR, CDR, ...) .
- Review/Prepare test procedures.
- Review/Prepare certification and test reports.
- Review supplier qualification documentation and recommend for approval.
- Resolve problems arising from the development and certification activities.
- Resolve problems arising from the product entry into service and sustaining phases.
- Functional requirements development and ensure proper implementation of requirements in hardware and firmware.
- Coordination of technical issues resolution across all Bombardier, Supplier, Regulatory & Customer affected parties.
- Support of electronic controller qualification, ground test, flight test and certification activities.
- Follow the Bombardier System Design Development Process (ARP4754 equivalent).
- Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Bombardier's requirements and standards.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You hold a University Engineering Degree in electrical engineering (hardware/electronic designs) or equivalent, and have a minimum of 5 years experience in aerospace related field.
- You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one aerospace control system.
- You shall possess an excellent understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a good knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight).
- You have a thorough knowledge of electronic controller designs and qualification to aerospace standards.
- You have a strong knowledge of RTCA DO-160.
- You have a good knowledge of RTCA DO-254.
- You have a basic knowledge of FBW FCS architecture, input signal management including monitoring, redundancy management and mode logic, failure modes and effects.
- You have a basic knowledge of rigorous requirements validation and design verification processes and techniques (ARP4754).
- You have a good knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
- You have a working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment.
- You have a good knowledge of MS Office and Requirements Management tools is an asset.
- You have excellent oral presentation and technical writing skills in English (French is an asset).
- You possess the following soft skills:
- Have the ability to work with limited supervision, be organized, a team player, a self-motivated person, Customer focused, and able to work under pressure.
- You must also show initiative, innovation, leadership, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement, and drive for results.
