Physical Integration Mechanical Team Leader (m/f)-TWMA-UKDY01329817

We are currently looking to recruit a Physical Integration Mechanical Team Leader (m/f), based at our engineering site in Derby


The main role of the Physical Integration Mechanical Team Leader is to coordinate the designers and senior designers within the Physical Integration team. S/he is responsible for collecting the technical information for employees and compose technical and functional order specifications by means of customer specifications and valid standards. In addition, s/he will also handle the follow-up of system suppliers.

Your tasks

- Team management and follow-up of the planning of the team
- Create useful Installation documentation
- Study all contractual documents, Bid Engineering information, standards, norms and procedures
- Technical follow-up of the installation assemblies
- Preparation of project start-up documents with the senior designers
- Checking of norms and customer specifications and the cost included during the design phase in order to be able to come up to the budget expectations
- Validation of the Catia V5 3D models, and later, drawings made by the designers, with regard to customer specifications, and passing them on to technical documentation
- Preparation of the technical documentation linked to the Design Reviews in support to the Work Package Leader
- Release documentation in PDM
- Manage Engineering change Processes
- Contribute to the different Engineering quotations


- Ideally Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical engineering
- Strong background in mechanical design in the rail (rolling stock) or aerospace industry
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 or other mechanical CAD design tools (i.e. NX)
- Knowledge of a PLM/PDM tool
- Ability to lead/coordinate the technical delivery and natural willingness to guide and coach team members
- Ability to understand technical requirements
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
- Good planning and problem solving skills
