Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is a world leader in developing, engineering and installing rail control and signalling safety systems, products and services. RCS enables the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains.

Your Role
As the Engineering (Product Development and Solutions Delivery) Safety and Validation Manager you will be managing the Safety and Validation Teams through team leaders in Europe, America and Asia- Pacific. You will ensure that sufficient resources with the required competencies are available carrying out the required safety and validation tasks for the solution projects and product development in compliance with the RCS's safety management system.
The responsibility for coordinating and leading the Solutions Authorization Management process for projects and represent projects to Independent Bodies and Authorities will also be part of the role.
You will lead the standardization of the safety deliverables for products and solutions and ensure the acceptance of independent safety bodies and safety authorities.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the safety & validation teams in order to ensure they are able to deliver the right safety documentation on time and collaborate with the project managers to assure delivery of suitable safe products and solutions.
- Prepare and maintain resource plans, budgets, forecasts and competency plans for the safety teams in cooperation with the Regions and Engineering products and tools management.
- Harmonize safety related processes and documents to meet customer requirements for projects.
- Provide support in estimating work effort for bids and preparation of work package descriptions for Safety Works required by a project.
- Ensure that the Safety Management System is maintained and rolled out across globally. Coordinate safety activities and development of safety strategies, tools and processes in coordination with the safety team leaders in the Regions and Engineering.

Qualifications

- Extended safety and system assurance of railway products, systems or solution within similar fields.
- Safety standards and hazard management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership within complex and multinational organisational set-up, including resource management, budgeting and planning.
- Self-driven way of working, excellent communication skills and a high level of integrity are required.
- Fluent English is essential for the role.
