Team Leader (m/f)-TWMA-UKCW01262302

Description

Bombardier's facility at Crewe is the company's Centre of Excellence for Component Repair and Overhaul (CRO) services in the UK. The facility has achieved near perfect execution in terms of cost, quality and delivery for the past years. The Crewe facility focuses its services on overhauls of wheelsets, bogies, AC and DC motors, as well as rewinds of DC motors. Larger contracts will also see overhaul work for items such as pantographs, compressors and other ancillary components, while engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.

We are currently looking to recruit a Team Leader (m/f) based in the Crewe, United Kingdom.

POSITION SUMMARY

- To deliver best practice within H&S, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People Management and Continuous Improvement using the Bombardier Operating System principles (BOS).

- Lead & motivate the team in achieving all business KPI's.

- To track & use data in the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) format in developing actions and identifying support requirements.

- To support the team, promote and provide support to achieving a continuous improvement culture.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health & Safety: Promotes, coaches and supports Health & Safety within the team.

- Hazards - Ensures Hazard reporting is on plan, reads all hazards raised before entering onto data base to ensure clear ownership; Ensures that correct containment/Root Cause and corrective actions are in place to prevent injury/near miss.

- Risk assessments - Drives and involves team in carrying out Risk assessments.

- Safety Walks - Leads Weekly safety walk.

- Accident/Incident Investigations - Takes the lead and encourages involvement.

- Housekeeping - Ensures housekeeping (5s) is sustained to the agreed standard.

- PPE - Ensures correct PPE is available and worn at all times

Quality

- Ensure Control plan is understood and followed.

- PPS - Takes the lead in Practical Problem Solving.

- NCC - Measures and records all Non Conforming Costs (NCC)/ Deviations in Quality incl Scrap/Rework through PDCA.

Delivery

- Plan Vs Actual - Ensure manpower is correct to TAKT.

- Process - Tracks any disturbances through ANDON and escalates appropriately.

- Bottlenecks - Ensures bottleneck process is understood and resourced.

- Material - Ensures system for material availability is adhered too.

Cost

- Tracks cost of consumables through PDCA.

- Energy - Ensures awareness of Energy consumption in section and robust shut down procedures exist.

- Waste - Ensures Waste routes are observed and managed.

- Requests overtime/annualized hours coverage.

People management

- Manages & maintains discipline/attendance in accordance with company's policies and procedures. Conducts investigations and hearings up to Final Warning stage.

- Communicates regular and holds frequent team briefs.

- Communicates monthly team performance.

- Conducts Team member appraisals, sets objectives/ identifies training needs.

- Develops team to enhance flexibility.

Continuous improvement

- Promotes the team ethic in kaizen through data collection using PDCA format.

- Is a key member of the team in any kaizen events within their area.

- Leads by example in identifying improvements.

Qualifications

- Clear knowledge of customer and business demands on their area.

- Thorough understanding of key production processes and sub-processes.

- Knowledge and experience of inventory and production control systems.

- Experienced user of problem solving and continuous improvement tools.

- Understanding of quality, safety and environmental systems.

- Understanding costs - Financial Awareness.

- Ability to develop and encourage teams - Personal Effectiveness.

- Ability to challenge and change people behaviours - Personal Effectiveness.

- Methodical planner and organizer.

- Computer competency in MS Excel and MS Word.
