Head of Financial Shared Services & Accounting & Reporting for UK and Transportation Holding Companies (m/f)-TGFI-UKDY01401642

We are always ready to speak to highly skilled and experienced people for our site in Derby, and, we are currently looking to recruit a Head of Financial Shared Services & Accounting & Reporting for UK and Transportation Holding Companies to join our team.

Role:

Secures Governance and Integrity in all financial reporting for Bombardier (country level). With additional responsibility for the Bombardier Transportation group Holding companies, ensures complex technical accounting advice and that financial transactions are compliant with UK Company law and IFRS accounting standards.

This person will be the Business Partner for the UK Board of Directors, Finance Shared Service Organization (FSSO), External Auditors, Taxation Authorities and Group Finance.

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

Financials & Compliance

- Responsible for the integrity of the Financials in the country; ensuring quality and timely information is delivered in line with Group and Regional/Divisional expectations.

- Specific focus for Bombardier Transportation Holding companies, giving guidance on accounting principles, Control environment, Strategy and financing arrangements.

- Guidance to the UK board of Directors and the holding Companies board on accounting and statutory rules involving the financing structure of the companies.

- Ensure total comprehensive accounting service and on time delivery of information.

- Ensuring compliance and integrity of the financials is adhered to and addressing discrepancies within the Country, recommending and driving improvement actions to remedy the situation.

- Delivery of local obligations (local GAAP, tax etc.) ensuring any local compliance issues are dealt with or escalated to the appropriate individuals.

- Review OSC/ CASRA deliverables and ensure execution in line with the OSC cycle and CASRA plans.

- Coordinate quarterly/ annual E&Y audits, and ensure no SADs are listed. Participate when needed in local reviews to ensure financials accurately reflect all known risks and opportunities.

- Provide expertise to all stakeholders.

- Pension accounting, monitor performance, implications of the Entity position and manage stakeholders.

- Ensure all actions are in line with internal (CASRA) and external compliance (GAAP) requirements and expectations.

Stakeholder Management

- Ensure good communication with Key Stakeholders within the Division/Region (includes SYS/RCS, PPC/BOG and BT Core). Design official forums for information exchange and ensure the forums are operating consistently liaise with corporate and group tax.

- Secure on time delivery of information to the various stakeholders e.g. Corporate, Group, Division/Region, Local Management, Statutory bodies, tax authorities etc.

- Monitor SLA/OLA at Country level and ensure conformity through regular reviews with Regional Head of Accounting.

- Strong relationship with pension trustees to give confidence and manage the company's covenant.

- Work closely with FP&A, and controllership organisations to ensure regional reporting accurately reflects the UK finance position.

- Regularly review and react to Stakeholder feedback/input with Regional A&R , CFO UK.

- Ensure strong liaison between the FSSC, business controlling and non-finance business community to ensure performance issues between stakeholders are addressed in a timely manner.

Process Execution & Improvement

- Ensure standard Global processes are consistently and effectively applied within the entity in all areas of activity.

- Achieve efficiency gains through simplifying and standardising processes and optimising the use of the SSC in alignment with the Site Controlling and A&R team, FSSO, BT Core and Group Functions (Tax, Treasury, IS etc.).

- Approve and implement system changes / new systems implementation that affect finance in the Country or Site in coordination with Site Controlling and A&R team, FSSO and IS.

- Implement the agreed migration of finance transactional activities into the SSC (shared with FSSO and Project Controlling).

People & Organization

- Responsible for recruitment, induction and performance management of direct reports.

- Regularly review the organization to ensure the Country's A&R team have the correct organizational design to achieve the deliverables in a consistent manner.

- Ensure all PMPs are completed with clear identification of individual training and development plans.

- Work with HR, Regional A&R and the UK Controlling teams to develop career (path) opportunities for individuals.

Ad Hoc Project Work

- Technical Tax and Accounting issues related to the Bombardier Transportation Holding companies.

- Involvement in SAP/systems implementation and improvements.

- Involvement in Cross Regional & Group initiatives.

- Involvement in any Ad Hoc requests coming from the Finance hierarchy.

Qualifications

- Bachelors or higher degree in Finance or similar, or, relevant work experience.

- Substantial previous experience in general accounting, working with multiple stakeholders. In-Depth experience of IFRS and local GAAP preferred.

- Flexibility and capacity to adapt to different working environments, with the abilities to support a varied team with their needs and requirements.

- Proven leadership skills with an eye for continuous improvement of teams and methods of working.

- Experience in a similar industry is not essential as we welcome new methods and ideas from other industries.

- In depth understanding of manufacturing process in the BT Value Chain (SMB), Quality processes, related IS/ IT systems (e.g. SAP)

- Proven skills in managing and influencing suppliers or/ and customers will be highly appreciated.

- Excellent communication skills at all levels.

- Attention to details and excellent problem solving skills.
