Based in Kingston, Ontario, responsible for organizing and overseeing all Continuous Improvement / Lean (CI/LEAN) initiatives throughout Operations. The focus is in reducing waste and redundancy in all that we do. This involves the application of standardized process improvement techniques across all projects such as, but not limited to; Business Planning, & Lean Manufacturing, the roll out of new technologies and processes aimed at reducing waste and industry best practices.

All activities shall be focused on supporting improvements across the four main Project objectives; Delivery, Quality, Cost and Safety (both product and personal).

This position is expected to work independently and or with local project teams, at all levels of the organization, to develop integrated supporting management processes/procedures. This role shall mentor, educate and motivate teams and individuals in implementing CI/LEAN principles and agreed improvements.

The role will be responsible for understanding and capturing latest industry innovations and best practices both within Bombardier worldwide and in outside industry. Converting such best practice into add value to the Project/Business.

In your role you will:

- Support the implementation and development of standardized assembly processes and practices that are balanced, reduce waste and improve the overall performance of the business using;
- Process Maps, Task Sequencing, Maintenance Optimization;
- The introduction and leadership of Continuous Improvement / LEAN principles;
- The development and generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) information, such as drawing packs, SOP sheets and Safe systems of working that reflect reliable and safe assembly processes;
- Develop and Maintain KPI's;
- Working closely with the Site Management Team to create and implement a plan to enable the creation of standardized processes that ensure smooth, uninterrupted assembly, improved product quality, and further reduce the burden on employees. Key to this is the candidates ability to create an effective and efficient working relationship with the Operations teams at all levels, developing integrated supporting management processes/procedures while functioning in a as a mentor, educator capacity to both teams and individuals;
- Continuously aim for and promote improvements in productivity/efficiency of the maintenance processes through the installation and management of appropriate tools and processes to assess, improve and accurately monitor performance. Additionally to provide the maintenance teams with support regarding the elimination of process waste utilizing dynamic problem solving techniques;
- Understand and capture latest industry innovations and best practices both within Bombardier worldwide and in outside industry. Converting such best practice to add value to the Project/Business Operations;
- Develop and optimize assembly processes for current and new assembly regimes. The role will be involved in all aspects of assembly;
- Champion the role out, implementation, and management of Continuous Improvement / LEAN within the department providing leadership, guidance, hands-on coaching, mentoring, education and training.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Technical degree;
- You cumulate a minimum of two (2) years in a similar position;
- You have manufacturing experience. Heavy manufacturing preferred;
- Your experience in the Bombardier Manufacturing System, planner and construction field will be considered an asset;
- You own excellent communications skills;
- You have continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing knowledge;
- You are proficient with excel;
- Your English communication skills are excellent.
