Job Description

Provide accounting assistance and support involving general office tasks, department invoicing, payroll, routine administrative and executive functions and specific project related functions. This position functions as a liaison between the executive, operations, office and administration staff as well as associates from outside the company. Individual must be able to handle a wide variety of situations involving the clerical and administrative function of the office. The individual should possess the ability and desire to work in a highly collaborative, lean environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Handle a wide variety of situations involving the clerical or administrative functions of the business unit. Perform any administrative functions to provide efficiency and continuous work flow to facilitate operations.
* Ability to perform a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll for the operating group.
* Ability to perform as back up support to the payroll manager.
* Work closely with superiors and peers to ensure accounting functions are reviewed and approved in accordance with corporate and project related requirements.
* Have a general understanding of Company's procurement process.
* Have a general understanding of Company's archiving process and electronic filing structure.
* Assume additional responsibilities as directed by administrative manager and group executive.

Required Experience

Two year business/accounting degree and two years progressively responsible accounting experience in assigned or related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of the designated functions; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships with employees, business associates and the general public; and follow written and verbal instructions. A high degree of interpersonal and organizational skill is essential for communication and collaboration with all levels of employees as well as those associates outside the company.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard, regularly travels (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation), and occasionally performs work on-site at construction work sites. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently.
